During my time at h_da (Hochschule Darmstadt) I programmed a custom VST plugin and used for an interpretation of Koyaanisqatsi
Koyaanisqatsi, also known as Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance, is a 1982 American experimental film directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke.
The plugin is responsible for all the destructive stutter effects you can hear in the video:

I don't offer the plugin as a download because it was more of a beginners project and there are lots of better, free options available if you like this kind of effect as much as I do.
